A conference of co-operative butter factories resolved to form a fighting fund for the purpose of testing the validity of the regulations under which the Federal Government affixes the grades of butter to the boxes, and also carried a motion pledging tlie delegates to a system of direct export. Mr. Osborne, a Victorian delegate, said ho had proved that direct export was the most payable. Local selling had been disastrous to New Zealand factories.
