GERMAN BRIBERY.
(Received 30, 8.5 a.in.) Tangier, August 23. The feeling prevails in connection with the Franco-German negotiations, that a settlement will be prolonged until the result is known of Mannesmann’s investigations of the mineral wealth or otherwise of the Sus region. It is estimated that Germany has spent £IOO,OOO in bribes in Morocco, whereof the Sultan has received £60,000 for concessions to German firms.
