At the Farmers’ Dairy Union annual meeting to-day the chairman stated tl.at the prospects for the future were eri c dent. They expected to sell at 10J 1 f.o.b. Wellington. They lad not yet consigned this year, but last year had to consign, as they could not sell. The capital- is reduced by 10,000 unissued shares, leaving 13,000 shares still to issue when necessary. CHARGES OF PILFERING. Auckland, August 28. Charges of pilfering cargo from j sheds on Queens street wharf preferred against Joseph Ehrmari and Alfred Ernest Hadden were heard at the Supreme Court to-day. The evidence for the prosecution, which was on ■ the, same lines as that given 'in the lower court, had not'' concluded when the court rose. A GENEROUS FRIEND. Dunedin, August 28. A friend of .Knox College, wire wishes to remain unknown, feeling the need for increased accommodation for students, has promised a donation of £SOOO-towards tiro cost of erecting the • necessary additions. It is. estimated that £IO,OOO will be required for tire proposed enlargement of the college and furnishing.
