ASSOCIATION MEETING. (Ter Press Association.) Wellington, kngust 28. The council of the New Zealand Lawn Tenuis Association met to-night. It was decided that the invitations for the singles championship tourney ho open to eight players only, including members of the Davis Cup team, to bo played after the Davis Cup. It was suggested that the, tourney ho a triangular contest among the Davis Cup visitors, Australians and Now Zealanders, all except the Davis Cup players to be chosen by a selection committee. It was also suggested that the matches be played in Wei# lington. 'Phis proposal was negatived, and all the arrangements, including the fixine of venue and method of selection, wore left to the management committee. The chairman announced that the management committee have arranged for a team of Australian ladies to visit New Zealand to play matches on dates to be decided later. The application of Hawke’s Bay for the New Zealand championship tourney for 1911 was refused.
