(Received 29, 11.10 ,a.m.) London. August 28. Silver, 21 1-l Gd. Waihi "shares, 60s to C2s Gd; Junction, 25s 7d to 26s lOd. Tiio wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom totals 2,875,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,855,000. Atlantic shipments, 264,000. _ Total shipments to Europe 1,125,000, including Argentine 102,000, Russian 305.000, Danubian 83,000, Indian 116.000, Australasian 185,000. MR NEWTON KING’S STRATFORD WEEKLY REPORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday there was a record attendance, also a very large entry of pigs and calves came forward; in fact, there was a shortage of pens. Prices, however, wore on a par with previous sale with the exception of one or two pons, showing quality which were keenly competed for, and showed a further advance on late values. I quote:— Slips and Wcaners 6s 6d, 9s, to 12s Gd, small stores 13s, 16s to 19s Gd, medium do. 21s to 23s Gd, light porker 265, medium do. 29s to 30s, sows £2 12s Gd, calves 2s to 8s Gd; harness, horse and cow rugs, saddlery, etc., and sundries were sold at usual rates. At the Mart. Poultry—Only a few birds wore penned, no killing birds came forward, for which I have a good demand for at present. Hons 2s Id to 2s Gd, pullets ss, Muscovie duck Is, roosters Is 9d to 2s; potatoes (table) 10s to 10s Gd sack, Up-to-date seed 12s Gd sack, Irish Rock, Beauty of Hebron, Early Rose, and White Elephant 10s to 14s cwt; milk cans 20s to 21s each. Furniture and sundries made fair, prices. I also hold a tree sale on behalf of Messrs Duncan and Davis at prices in favour of buyers.
