MOROCCO.
(Received 28, 9a.m.) Tangier, August 27. The Spaniards landed for the troops at Alcazar a mountain battery of four guns and 213 artillery men. The “Frankfurter Zeitung” predicts a settlement of tbo Moroccan affair on the resumption of the conversations, a.s it has been Germany’s v. ish to leave Franco a free hand in Morocco, receiving compensation elsewhere. Madrid, Angust27. The suggestion that France should establish a protectorate in Morocco is regarded as a violation of the treaties. The Government is endeavouring to obtain a settlement by international negotiation.
The Moors attacked Spanish surveyors near Melilla. Two whites and two natives were killed.
