Nswton King’s V/cstily Report. At Waiwukiiiho on Thursday, 17th inst., tlic.ro was a fair yarding, mostly ot young cattle, whicii realised satisfactory prices. Mixed yearlings made lids to 39 s 6d, yearling steers 35s to £2 6s 6d, yearling heifers 36s to £2 6s, do. Jersey strain £2 16s to £3, empty heifers £2 IDs ,to £ I 3s, springing neiftrs £4 to £6 10s, store cows £2 17s to £3 os 6d, forward cows C'J 10s to l‘i, springing cows,£s ,15s to £ll 16s, bulls £3 17s Gd to ,£4 ,ss, 4 and 6 tooth, owes 12s, mixed sheep Bs. A cow was donated to the Agricultural oociefy by Mr. S. Smith,- and realised £ll los. on I'riday, rim 18th inst., I sold Mr J. Sumner's herd at Oakura, when there was a good attendance, and the cows, most of which werb early, culvers and in fair condition, realised good prices. Cows close up brought from £G to £.lO, later £4 lOs to £5 los, bulls £5 6s to £6, sows £2 to £3 6s, boar 325, good stores 16s to 235, corkers 30s.
At TJrenui sale on Monday, the 21st inst., there was a large yarding, especially of young cattle which were in good demand. Several lines of dairy cows were offered, but being in rather poor condition, did not realise recent market rates. Mixed yearlings £2 os, yearling steers 37s to £2 12s, yearling heifers 31s to £2 12s 6d, empty heifers £3, springing heifers £4 •Os to £7, 2-year steers £3 11s to £3 15s, store cows 38s Gd to £3 3s, forward cows £3 8s to £4 6s, dairy cows £4 to £3 10s, hulls £3 2s 6d to £4 ss, wethers 14s 6d, sows 23s to £2 Is, weaner pigs 7s to Os stores 14s to 18s, porkers 265. At my usual fortnightly cattle sale at Stratford cn the 22nd nsr., ilmic. was a fair yarding with goo 1 attend-, ance of buyers. Young cattle were in good demand and sold readily. Mixed yearlings 33s to 42s 6d, do. poorconditioned 2Gs Gd, yearling heifers 34s to £2 Ho, yearling steers 31 s to £2 4s 6d, 2-year heifers £3 5s to £3 18s 6d, springing heifers £4, store cows £3 2s to £3 12s 6d, forward cows £3 IGs to £4, fat rows £l. 17s Gd to .£5 7s, springing ei-ws £o os, bulls 31s to £2. On the same day n y 84-rallord daily yards wore well Jilted with springing heifers and dairy cows, which met with a good market. A very choice ’line was yarded by Mr. (leo. Loi iinar, which averaged £9 9s, one cow reaching £l9 10s, springing heifers close up made £6 to £7 17s 6d, later £4 to £5 15s, dairy cows close up £6 to £l9 10s, later £4 10s to £5 16s, very late £3 7s 6d to £4 ss. At Stony River on Wednesday tiie 23rd instant there was a good yarding mostly of young stock, prices for which were slightly in advance of previous sale. Some choice fat cows wore disposed of at from £5 12s 6d to £7 los, mixed yearlings made 28s 6d to - £2 4 s 6d, yearling steers £2 to. £2 10s Gd, yearling heifers £2 5s to £2 16s, 2 year heifers £3 8s 6d, empty heifers £3 12s 6d, forward cows £3 17s to £4, dairy cows £5 5s to £7, bulls £3 10s to ±;G, store pigs 16s, weaners 6s 6d.
Messrs Matthews and Bennett repart that at Mr. T. Jury’s sale on Tuesday last there was a large attendance of buyers, and everything sold real well. Yearling £2 Bs, heifers £5 10s, hull Co 10s, dairy cows £8 to £l3, horses £8 lbs to £3B 10s, sows in pig £3 to £3 17s Gd. •There was a good yarding \at their Inglewood yards last Wednesday, when all stock sold freely with tlie exception of second-rate dairy cows, which were hard to quit at vendors’ rci-erves. Prices as follows- Yearling heifers £3 3s Gd to £3 I3s Gd, steers 34s to £'2 2s Gd, 2-year empty heifers £3 14s 6d, store cows £3 8s to £3 15s, old do. £1 5s to £2 12s 6d, springing heifers £5 10s to £G 6s, cows £5 10s to £7, poor and second rate cows £3 15s to £4, f.m. ewes 11s 3d.
