Palmerston N., August 23. Tiie Mauawatu coursing meeting opened to-day in good weather. The Waterloo Cup drew forty contestants from ali parts of the Dominion. The first and second rounds left the following dogs in for to-day’s third round, of which tho draw is;—G. Down’s Daystar v. 1). Kennedy’s Maximised; H. Rogers’ Hazel v. J. Hannah’s Bijou ; J. Jenkinson’s Pirate Captain v. Clark Bros.’ Sir Minto; Nightingale’s Deerfoot v. J. Taylor’s Milibank; Morrow Bros.’ Empress’ Delight v. C. Schauor’s Rufus Dawes.
