To-morrow evening the weekly change of pictures will be submitted, the chief item being a representation of the well-known 'drama “East Lynne.” The comic section is more ■than ordinarily well represented, and a treat is promised in the scenic gem “How Winter Decorates Nature.” WEST’S PICTURES. To-night at the Town Hall the weekly change of programme will bo submitted -by West’s Pictures, the items including pictures of the Coronation procession, the illuminations at night in London, and the great naval review at Spithead. Speaking of these pictures t the Wanganui “Chronicle” remarks:—“lt is safe to say that an insignificant proportion of "the Inigo crowds who were present in the London streets at Coronation time saw the-King and Queen, the Prince of Wales and Princess Mary, under such favourable circumstances as did the audience who were present at the Lyceum last evening. A new series of pictures, the work of the famous Urban firm, was received yesterday afternoon, and shown for the first time in the evening. It is a really magnificent film, and entirely puts in the shade the first set of pictures shown. It does not deal with the Coronation procession, but shows the splendid illuminations on Coronation night and the happenings of the next day. The chief feature of the picture is the excellent views of the. Royal party. At several points on the route of procession the King and Queen, riding in an open carriage, are plainly seen, but the' great moment is when the carriage draws up to allow His Majesty to accept the Freedom of the City. The camera man has evidently been posted only ha few feet away, and as a consequence an almost life-size picture of the King and Queen and their eldest son and daughter is shown. The presentation occupied some time, and the audience is given an excellent opportunity to study their Sovereign. Another striking picture is that showing the naval review. This gives a splendid conception of the greatness of the occasion, and, apart from Britain’s mighty power, the ships of the other nations are easily distinguished. The picture is in every way an admirable one, and is sure to draw largo audiences during the remainder of the season. In addition to the .Coronation pictures, an admirable miscellaneous programme is shown.”
CORONATION SKATING RINK. Special attractions are provided for to-morrow evening at this rink, and prises for ladies and gentlemen will bo presented as usual for tbs various events. The, arrangements for the social and dance which takes place on Monday evening next, are. well in hand. Several singers have promised to assist, and a most enjoyable evening is anticipated.
