FIRES.

VOLUNTEER HALL DESTROYED. (Per Press Association ) Dunedin, August 22. The old Volunteer Hall .at Mosgiel, together with a fruit store occupied by Mrs Smith, were destroyed by firo on Sunday morning. The store, which belonged to Hitchon, of Milton, was insured for £3OO in tho New Zealand Office, the furniture for £2OO in tho Victoria Office, and the fittings for £SO in tho Victoria Office. The hall contents, owned by Thomas Fogg, were insured in the Northern Office for £SOO.
