Sydney, August 21. An informal Cabinet meeting discussed the political situation, and decided to prepare for u general election. Ministers expect to appeal to the country about Christmas, as they consider a dissolution cannot long be staved off. In the meantime the -vork in connection with the re-distrx-bntion of seats will he pushed ahead. Perth, August 21.
The' financial year closed with a surplus of £13,296. A deficiency of £102,000 was, wiped off despite the decreased Federal returns.
