ITS ADVANTAGES EXEMPLIFIED
Although Mr 11. Dingle had been testing his cows for several years, and benefited largely by tlio results, he likowisetook advantage of tbe offer ihado by the Agricultural .Department and submitted the whole of his dairy herd to the process now so popular among dairy farmers. Mr Dingle has received the last results of twentythree cows for the season 1910-11, the whole of which must be considered highly satisfactory, and still further emphasises the advantages of testing in order to locate the ‘bobbers.” The twenty-three cows averaged 3061 b of butter-fat, which at lid gives- £l4 per cow. The following individual results speak for themselves:— Beauty, aged 6 years, Jcrsey-Hol-stein, calved August 20th, 1910, dried off May 10th 1911; highest test 5.2, lowest 3.6; 598911) milk, producing 256 H) butter-fat, which at lid per lb gives a return of £ll 14s 8d; 263 days in milk.
