The Chamber of Commerce decided to-day to send a telegram to the Minister of Agriculture requesting that progress of the Seeds Sale and Control Bill be delayed for at least two or three weeks so that members of the trade throughout the Dominion might have time to confer regarding its requirements and lay its views before him. Palmerston N., August 18. Mr E. Griffiths has received cabled advice that Danish butter has advanced 8 kroner, and that the market is gaining strength daily. Prices are still advancing, the drought being more disastrous than anticipated. It is very serious, Mr Griffiths says. This advance is equivalent to nine shillings per cvvt.
