DAYLIGHT SAVING.
SOLDIERING v. CRICKET. (Per Press Association!) Christchurch, August 15. A committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association decided to support Mr Sidcy’s Daylight Saving Rill, an 6 the secretary was instructed to tiiegraph to the Christchurch members of Parliament to support the Bi 1 !. The committee also discussed the arrangements made locally for parades for military training, the defence authorities having lixod certain alternate Saturdays in October, November, and December. It was pointed out Iliac unless this was altered it. would iman a death blow to cricket, as youths would not join the clubs when they knew that their military duties would not permit thorn to enter lor competitions. It was suggested mat parades should he held on cousecu dvr Saturdays and should bo spread over the year and not confined practically to the summer months. A dcpacara m was. appointed to wait on lire officer commanding the district to piaoe tho association’s views before him.
