STRATFORD v. INGLEWOOD. A matolu will be played between teams representing Stratford and Inglewood on the Stratford links on ’Jhursday. The following will represent Stratford :—J. L. Stanford, I). Card ale, S. Spence, F. N. Fiissoll, E. P. Uniacko, v). H. Thompson, W. Cargill, F. W. Wake, E. Barry, and Dr. Menzics.
Cr. Bonn forwarded an apology to the Borough Council last night for non-attendance. Tho Bishop of Auckland Will visit Taranaki diming September, and will ho in Stratford about the Util. During his stay he will hold a enofii mation service. On Thursday evening next,, the annual dinner of the Si-r.vti’.n-l .Foothall Club will he held m Mrs. Brown's rooms, when a musical progtamme will lie submitted and pre-cntitioo cf .medals as under will lake place: Mrs. H. Riciimond’s gold i edal for the most consistent piavrr in the senior team; Mr. T. C. Foole's’ trrpfiy for the )>ost-trained man; Mesr-is; Mullen and Marshall's g. 4,1 medal for best senior' back and host senior finward, ami silver medal for the best junior hack and junior forward; also, Mr. Campbell Jackson's gold medal for tho best all-vomid third-giade player.
