WAINGONGORA ROAD.

(From our own Correspondent. ) In (commemoration of the completion of the Midhirst Dairy Co.’s new creamery, erected on the Waingongora Hoad North, the shareholders hold a sociable evening at Mr Wolfe’s tesidence, “Egmont Terrace,” winch was the scene of one of the most enjoyable evenings ever spent in this neighbourhood, there having assembled about eighty guests. In opening the evening Mr Skedgwick, a director of the Midhirst Dairy Co., delivered a short address on iiow t o seven settlors of trie north end of the road put their heads together and succeeded in getting this creamery huilt, and lie also hoped they would do all they could to make it a success. After Mr Skedgwick declared the creamery opened, the commodious rooms of “Egmont Terraco” were cleared for games and dancing, which were enjoyed by both young and old, the latter having taken as much interest in it as the former. At about 11 o’clock Mrs Wolfe and Mrs W. Brown, assisted by Mosdames T. Brown, P. Morriscy, A. Ferguson, and Misses M. Brown, C. O’Sullivan and Mrs C. Abbott, prepared a most sumptuous supper, which was done justice to by the tired and weary dancers. Songs were- rendered by Miss F. 'Wolfe, Messrs A. Belcher, J. McClenan, E. O’Sullivan, A. Ferguson and C. Wolfe. Dancing v,;as again commenced and kept up till about 4 o’clock. By this time the dancers were becoming inactive, and the ladies

handed round another supper just in time to rescue the position. After this, on behalf of the guests, Mr C. Abbott thanked Mr and Mrs Wolfe and family for the kindness and hospitality shown them throughout the evening. Mr 'Wolfe suitably replied, arid a perfectly enjoyable evening was brought to a close by singing “For bo’s a Jolly Good Follow.” r l lie music was supplied by Mr Andrew Belcher (piano) and Mr J. McClenan (violin). Extras were played by Miss A. Wolfe, and Messrs A. Belcher, A. Evans, and 0. Wolfe. The duties of M.C.’s were carried out by Messrs C. Wolfe and J. Brown.
