CARDIFF BAND OF HOPE.

A most enthusiastic gathering listened appreciatively to the capital programme submitted at the monthly meeting of the Cardiff Band of Hope on Thursday evening last. The Rev. B. Metson, president of the Society, presided, and introduced the following items: —

Overture, Miss Blair; piano solos, Miss M. Rogers and Mr C. Marchant; instrumental duet (encored), Miss C. Sanders and Mr R. Sanders; vocal solos, Misses G. Neal and C. Sanders (2); recitations, Misses M. Wade and M. Bouncll (2), Mr Bolton, A. Olliver and B. Metson. A typical dialogue rendered in a tolling and forcible'manner by Misses Hancock and David and Messrs C. Marchant, Hancock and J. Richards met with much favour. At the conclusion of tire programme a good number of the audience signed the pledge book of the Society.
