On Saturday last we held.our usual sale. There was a good attendance of buyers. We quote:—Poultry: Roosters (killers) Is -id to 2s 8d; hens Is 5d to 2s, pullets 2s Kid to 3s 9d, goose 3s (ill to Is lid, gobblers os fid. Vegetables and produce: Cauliflowers 3s to -Is fid per dozen, cabbage 2s 3d per sack, onions (gooil strings about 2011)) Is 9d, carrots (small bags) Is fid, parsnips Is to 2s 3d, sack swedes 2s 3d, pumpkins 2s 9d, potatoes 10s, melons Is fid and 3s 3d, bacon (farmers’) fikl per lb, pollard (1501 b) 11s, rice meal (1101 b) Bs, gig £ll, horse £1 los. Furniture and sundries sold well. Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.’s Report. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stal’tford, report for week ending 10th instant that there is a keen demand for 2-year-old steers both local and outside clients. Four or live outside clients visited our district* and purchased stock aggregating 100 head. During the week wo disposed of six herds of cows on account of Wliangamomona clients to local purchasers. We also report a better inquiry for hoggets and wethers, and tho prospects for yearling steers appear to be good, Our next auction Side will be licit! at our Stratford yards on Tuesday next, the loth instant.
