INDUSTRIAL UNREST.
(Received 11, 10. lb a.ni.) London. August 10. Some Loudon streets are as> qniet as on Sundays. Commercial vehicular traffic has ceased., Extra police have- been drafted to strike areas. Crowds at Paddington prevented vans leaving there. There have been may isolated eases of personal injuries ami arrests. Fish porters at Billingsgate refused work unless 2s per hour is paid. The masters conceded the demand. Mr. Asklvitli has arranged a settlement with the coal porters, an agreement being signed giving increased wages and other concessions. The conditions at Liverpool are rapidly becoming worse. Detachments of the Warwickshire Regiment and 200 Irish Constabulary have arrived. There wore riotous scenes at the central station. (Received 11, 10.45 a.in.) London, August 10. Inter accounts state that the Woolwich and Aldershot commands have been ordered to be in readiness. Heavy drafts arc already moving from Aldershot to London.
