j THE LORDS’ AMENDMENTS. (Received 9, 11.2 a.m.) London, August 8. In the House of Commons consideration ’of the Lords’ amendments was resumed. Lord Hugh Cecil moved that they he considered three months henceHe said lie would gladly see Mr Asquith dealt with hy the criminal law, as he was guilty of high treason. An iq roar ensued. Sir E. Carson • asked whether the King was advised as to the elfect of the guarantee on Home Rule? Mr. Churchill said the King was acquainted with the matters in dispute, among which Home Rule was one of the most important. Mr Churchill’s remarks caused a sensation. Lord Curzon, in the House of Lords, moved the vote of censure. PRIZE FITTING. SQUIRES KNOCKED OUT BY LANG. (Received 9, 1.35 p.m.) Brisbane, August 9. ■ Lang knocked Squires out in the fifth round.
