HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE

His Majesty’s Theatre was crowded on Saturday night to witness tJio screening or Tnursday's programme, with tiro groat additional attraction of one of the Coronation numbers. The audience was a most enthusiastic one, and the manner in which appreciation followed each picture was ample proof of their merit. “The blue Horse Mine,” in which an Indian compotes in a Marathon race under peculiar circumstances, evoked the greatest outburst, while the laughter unit greeted “Mr. Tube's Triumph,” in the comic line, literally shook the building. “The Merry Wives of Windsor” (comedy), introducing tho notorious Sir John Ealstaff, of oeerdrinking and love-making fame, came in for a fair share of applause. Of tho Coronation film, it need only be said that a splendid idea is given of ono of the greatest pageants of modern times, and no one should miss seeing it. The same programme will bo repeated to-night. At the matinee on Saturday afternoon the essay prize of 10s 6d was awarded to Miss Grace Henry, Miss Mario Clark being second, liotn essays are said to be very clover.

On Thursday next, what is considered to be one of the finest and most magnificent films ever produced—“'The Fail of Troy”—will be screened, when another bumper house may bo expected. Skating will be indulged in to-mor-row' evening, and on Wednesday, August 23rd ; tliere will be a grand skating carnival, valuable prizes being offered for tho best costumes, etc., some to the value of five guineas. CORONATION SKATING RINK. This popular pastime continues in full swing at this rink, and many pleasant turns arc spent on the rollers, The rink will lie open every afternoon and evening during this week. The date of the Coronation dance has, however, been altered, and will be held on Tuesday evening, August 15th, instead of the 14th, as intended.
