SADLER’S CONVICTION QUASHED (Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 3. The Chief Justice lias delivered the following judgment in the case Rex v. Sadler, known as the Christchurch manslaughter case :—“The Court is of opinion that the evidence adduced in this case was insufficient to warrant a jury in finding a verdict of 'manslaughter. The conviction is therefore quashed. As there is another person to ho tried for the same offence the Court considers it expedient to defer stating reason’s for its decision until the trial referred to is at an end.”
