One survivor escaped by jumping out of the bm k of fbe house and through the 011-.er end of the' village. Two succeeded in finding two guns and a little ammunition, and with the few coolies remaining retired from the vilI tge, using the guns to cover their escape. Fiv? survivors reached Sishsin, where there., were . no ,signs, , pi ~Dr.
Gvegorson;' who "had boon left there with a number of sick coolies. His tent had disappeared, and only an ominous gathering of crows hung over the deserted encampment.
