OUT EAST. A football match was played at Te .Vera on Saturday between the Te iVora/and the‘-Lino teams, and re.ultcd in a victory for the homo team y 22 to nil, alter a very friendly puuc. Te Wera’s were by far the ighter team, but the splendid work .y a fast set of forwards and the fine combination of the backs soon broke through the Line defence. Tries' were ■cored by C. Stewart (3) and West, •dirce licing converted, by C. Stewart 1), W. Stewart (1), and Summerayes (1) ; and Stewart potted a goal from the field. Mr. R. Scott made a . cry efficient referee. In the evening "e Wera entertained the Line team t a banquet at Calvert’s boardingrouse. THURSDAY’S REP. MATCHT The Rugby Union lias been advised dint the District Traffic Manager of Railways has recommended that excurion fares and delayed trains should he provided in connection with the natch between Taranaki and tho North Island Country, team. It is xpocted that the train will leave ••tratford about 12.30 p.m.., arriving : n New Plymouth at 2.45 p.m. Mr F. Spnrdle will act as referee. ASSOCIATION. A team will bo selected from the ‘Allowing players to represent StratArd at Fltham on Thursday:—Beale, Donnell. Smith, Butrhart, Wood, Gor”ui, Allen, Schofield, Dickinson, An-flerr-on, East. Team will leave by I o’clock train.
