The weather nips good, and the)attendance was tho largest, wo believe, ever seen at a clean eg sale in the district, there being about 350 people preheat. Mrs Clark provided a very line luncheon, and, after those present 'had partaken of, sanie,, i jUr Endd, tlio Company’s auctioneer, started tho sale witli the Household furniture and effects, which were numerous and of superior quality, and which were disposed of updor very keen competition, and realised good prices. ’ The implements and machinery wore sold next. Those wore all in splendid order and were keenly sought after, realising lull values. Tho dairy herd was in good condition, and met witii keen competition, 20 cows making an average of £9. They horses wore good reliable animals, but somewhat aged, and realised from £l.l Jos to £.12 10s. Cows io. pig made up to 120 s, and a boar 555. Other prices were as follows : —Bedsteads up to -10 s, wardrobe 71s, sideboard 163 s Gd dresser G3s chest of drawers 28s, organ £2O, piano passed in at £2B, lady’s bicycle 87s Gd, milk cans up to 275, Donald jack 50s, field gate 255, spring dray £ls, harness 955, F.F. drill (I years in use) £23 10s, grass mower 110 s, gig £2O 15s, tine harrows 50s, disc; harrows 1255, chaff-cutter 70s, 8 colonics of bees .17s each, factory shares up to 15s each, fowls 2s to 3s Gd. A very nice line of 2-year-old heifers made from 1,17 s Gd to IGOs, won tier iicifers 37s Gd to Gss, dairy cows 280 s, 2255, 2205, 2155, and down to 120 s, "'ldle a few backward cows realised from 100 s to ] 15s.
On Tubsday, 25tb hist., we lick! a clearing pijlq at Lower Norfolk Road on account ol Messrs C'laridge and Grant. There was a fair attendance of about 50 people, mostly local residents. 1 lie herd, .although low in condition and unfavourably reported on by opposition linns,, were keenly competed for, realising from 100 s to 1955, 313 cows making an average of loSs, a bull was sold at 120 s, sows in pig at 51s, milk cans from 19s to 21s, and a Hornsby s.f. plough at Ms. On Wednesday we held a clearing sale on account of f\lr .John Brake, Toko Road, Toko, when there was a largo attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, totalling in all about 120 people. Sirs Brake had an exceptionally good lunch laid, which was much appreciated. Nornmnby, Cardiff, ayd the .surrounding districts, in ail, about 120 people ho mg present. The herd ol' cows was well Iviiowti, and was of the ShorthornA.yrahiro cross type. The cows had hern well cared far and wore keenly competed for hy local fanners wito I-new the herd. ' The tnaciiiucry and implements were disposed of first, mill: cans realising 12s tid to 21$, Donald jack (only fair order) Ids, s.f. Duncan plough l !!)s, steel Queen disc harrows, wliielt, however, was rather heavy for tips district, ISOs, light s.f. plough (one horse) 70s, chain harrows 70s, light dray 70s, dog cart Cl‘s os, harness 755, milk waggon CIO, cart harness 50s, totara piles from 8(1 to lOd. Tito horses w hich were a nice lot realised from do to £25 10s, for an unbroken 111 1 v, which shows promise of being a splendid animal. The herd of (50 cows was thou disposed of. and realised prices ranging from 125 s to 2405, making an average of H2s, a fr'w store cows realising from 80s to nOs, hulls realised from 41s to 100 s, and a nice lino of 28 yearling heifers (bred hv Mr Castle) made 44s od. and 25 yearling steers wore sold to a Whan.gamoinona hnvor at 48s.
