FIRES.
o (Per Press Association.; Wellington, .July 31. A house- of seven rooms near Kaiwarawara,- owned by Mr Alex. W. Neuron and occupied by Mr Robert J. Pope, headmaster of the Kaiwarawara school, was totally destroyed bylire on Saturday afternoon, together with the .whole of the contents. It is supposed that clothes which were left to air in front of the kitchen range topic fire during the absence of tiic family. The house was insured in the Sun office for £(500, and the furniture ami effects are covered in the State oliioo for £250. Air Hope estimates his loss at £2OO above the insurance.
