Sir, —Ratepayers are patiently waiting to know what has been done by the Borough Council in the matter of the electric light question. It is understood that the Council and the Syndicate have agreed as to the goodwill. If tin’s .Us so, it is about time the Council took the ratepayers into their confidence. Tim goodwill is tho most important matter to he settled, and the sooner the ratepayers know what has been agreed to tho more confidence they will have in the Borough Council deliberations. Tho ratepayers have a right to know what has been done, and in this matter tlie Council should not lose sight of the fact that before anything can be definitely agreed to a poll of tho ratepayers will have to he taken. 1 trust, Sir, that tho Council will not require any further urging to take the ratepayers into their confidence. —l am, etc., RATEPAYER.
