AN APPEAL DISMISSED.

FEDERAL MINISTER’S CASE. (Received 28, 10.55 a.inf) Sydney, July 28. Mr Hughes’ appeal against the jury’s verdict lias been dismissed with costs. On June sth, the Supreme Court imposed a fine of £255 on Mr Hughes, Attorney-General and Acting-Premier of the Commonwealth, for assault and' breach' of agreement with Richard Bellinger. Bellinger. contracted with Hughes to work bn the hitter’s dairy farm at Windsor on the share system for twelve mouths. After eight weeks Hughes declared that the farm was not being properly worked, aiid ordered Bellinger to quit, but the latter refused; thereupon Hughes had Bellinger forcibly removed. A stay of. proceedings was granted pending the decision of the Full Court on points of law.
