WAREHOUSE ROBBERIES. •i , (Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 26Several cases of robbery from warehouses came before Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., this morning. Allan Lee was charged with having stolen goods to the value of £143 6s Gel, the property of W. G. Turnbull and Co. Ernest' Charles Gregory 7 was charged with the theft of goods valued at £5 6s 6d, the property of A. S. Patterson’, and C. Bertie Smith was charged with having received goods knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained, valued at £143 6s 6d, the property of W.G.Turnbull and Co. The first charge against Lee was also preferred against Alfred Smith, who was charged with receiving the articles mentioned. He was head storeman in W. G, Turnbull and Co.’s bonded warehouse, and Gregory' was under storeman for Patterson and Co. Bertie Smith kept a grocery 7 shop in Russell Terrace, and Alfred Smith, his brother, was an pressman. Gregory and the Brothers Smith pleaded guilty, and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was allowed, subject to accused reporting to the police every morning and evening. Allan Lee pleaded not guilty 7, and was defended by Mr C. M. Dix. Evidence was heard, and accused reserved his defence, and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, bail being fixed at £2OO.
