FARMERS’ UNION.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 27. The Farmers’ Conference to-day passed a resolution to the effect that the present system of taxation, based on the unimproved value, being most unsatisfactory, in consequence of the impossibility of ascertaining the true unimproved value, the conference would favour a more equitable basis of taxation, one which would place tiie taxation of land in just proportion to that contributed by other industries.
