(Received 27, 9.0 a.m.) Sydney, July 27. The gales on the coast arc subsiding but the seas arc still rough, and vessels are making prolonged trips. Adelaide, July 27. The Mayor declined to extend a civic reception to the Sheffield Choir in accordance with his rule not to receive money-makers. Members of the Government co-operated with the. public in tendering a citizens 1- welcome. Mr Harries vigorously denied the imputation that the choir wore a lot of pot,hunters, declaring that the movement had cost him £IO,OOO. The concert was crowded.
