FIRE BRIGADE v. FORESTERS. ‘ (By “Offside.) The football match between members of the Fire Biigade and Foresters’ Lodge to-morrow afternoon is sure to provide good fun for the spectators. The “Fire Fighters” are favourites, and tiie tearp is made up as follows : ■, Captain Grubb—of the old school—■ works up a good “Crescendo,” but very often beats a “retard.” Foreman Wilson—another old warhorse atpl “Dreadnought.” ,

Fireman Walsh lias been '‘coupled” up, but is very good at finding loose “joints.” Fireman T. Payton—The motor demon ; guarantees to run over everybody and doctor you up afterwards. Fireman Davey-—Scrum half; used to the leading, reins, and should start some good rushes. Fireman Drake—Learnt the game amongst the Maoris; prefers wet weather, so that ho can swim ont. Fireman. Freeman-—Very good at knocking the leather about. Can Ixl relied on not to get the “stitch.” Fireman Gorton—A new chum at the game, hut is the “typo” of a sound investment. Fireman Davies plays the American game, and is a warrior t’o stop out. Fireman Fnston requires watching; likely to “slaughter” anything he strikes. Fireman Gredig— I Trained on the Alps, and has walked to Whanga for exorcise. Fireman Brocklebank—The Sandow of the team ; will polish, off anything,, and carries a mattress for his opponent. Fireman W. Payton will “stump” it with the Lest, and generally gets there. . Fireman Lane-—A smart sprinter, but suffers from “stitch.” Messenger Crossen—Oho of our young heroes; has been training like' a “brick.”
