A NEWCASTLE MURDER.
TWO MEN COMMITTED. Sydney, July 25. Two ’men named Smith and Jones were committed for trial on a charge of tJio murder of Dajy at Newcastle on the. 17th hist. The evidence ■ showed that the men had been drinking together. When arrested Smith told the police that Daly shot himself. At the inquest to-day. Smith stated that he was trying to open a revolver when it vent off and shot Daly.
