Melbourne, July 25. In the Assembly Mr Waddell made a personal statement regarding Mr Justice Higgin§’ speech of yesterday. He declared there was not a shadow ■ of foundation for Mr Higgins’ statement that he abused bis position in Parliament 'to attack Mr Higgins. ' A PROTEST, (Received 26, 9.50 a.in. ) Sydney, July 20. The miners in the Newcastle district are protesting against Mr Fisher’s cabled statement that there was plenty of room in New South Wales for miners. They are sending a cable to the miners:of Great Britain denying the assertion. MILITARY COLLEGE. Sydney, July 26. The Military College at Duntroon is in full working order. There are ninety cadets. The resident officers express appreciation of the work done.
