AMERICAN "CRIPPEN CASE.

o— The startling similarity between the Crippen case and the mystery of the New York flat whore the body of Mrs Schieh, the wife of a chauffeur, was found five months after death, becomes more apparent as the investigation of the . case proceeds’, says a New York message-of June 2nd. The detectives are working on the supposition that the murderer was inspired by the detailed accounts of the Crippen case published in American newspapers, and followed Crippen’s example in leaving the body in ah empty house. Last month the, police recorded a formal charge of wife murder against Mr Schieh, and ihe ■is now in the Tombs Prison, while the police are making every effort to complete their case' against him. Their greatest difficulty is that in the opinion of experts it is almost impossible to prove the cause of Mrs Scbicb’s death, owing to the condition of the body when it was discovered.
