(Per Press Association) Ashburton, July 25. After a week’s extremely hard frosts, it is now raining. A southerly gale set in on Saturday with heavy snowstorms in the back country. The Government Meteorologist telegraphed this afternoon Weather variable and squally at times, and expect showery and changeable; probably a very cold night; rivers high; glass unsteady.
