TELEGRAPH LINES DOWN.

INTERRUPTED COMMUNICATION. A snow storm on the high lsmds south of Blenheim has carried away the telegraph lines, and all communication by that moans has been stopped since Monday morning. Telegrams between the North and South Islands are being carried by the ferry boats. The Maori brought up a large batch last night for distribution-from Wellington, and returned with an equally largo number to the southern city. Up to 10 a.m. to-day there had been no sign ol tiro restoration oi the lines.
