BRITISH PRESS APPRECIATIVE. London, July 18. The newspapers note witli satisfaction the Commonwealth’s and other Dominions’ views regarding the renewal of the Japanese alliance, particularly the introduction of the new clause cabled relating to general arbitration, and also note France’s gratification at the step to strengthen the hands of their British friends, and the “Novoe Vrcmya’s” (Russian) applauding of tiie omission of the danse relating to countries adjacent to the Indian frontier and its further advocacy of a general arbitration treaty between Russia and Britain.
