The French and German Colonial Offices are being consulted regarding the proposals to induce Germany to close the Moroccean account and not to renew the attack. Advices from Mogador state that the cruiser Berlin has been landing batches each of forty armed men, who are exploring the immediate surroundings. The natives at Agadir are quiet. TenorifFe, July 17. The cruiser Berlin has arrived from Agadir, and is coaling and provisioning. (Received 18, 8.5 a.m.) Vienna, July 17. The “Neu Freie Presse” states that Germany will renounce territorial compensation in Morocco, but the hinterland of Agadir will be apportioned as her zone of economic influence. France is willing to extend German territory or to take Chand and further south.
