Matthews anti Bennett. Matthews and Bennett report that there was a fair entrj of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last, and most lots changed hands at tile following prices Calves, 25s to 30s; yearlings, £2 Is to £2 3s 6d; steers, £2 8s; dairy cows, £5 5s to £7 12s 6d; store cows, £2 2s 6d to £3 2s 6d; fat cows, £5 Is: empty heifers, £3 4s 6d.
Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.’s Report. The N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report:— Wo held a clearing sale on account of Mr Robert Moffatt, Ronald Road, Cardiff, on Thursday, 13th inst., when we offered 50 head of cattle and 5 horses, and tlie usual sundries. There was a largo attendance, about 90 farmers from the surrounding district present, and considering the reputation of the herd and the returns taken from them last year tire sale was an exceptionally good one. Thirtyfour of the cows, early calvers, made an average of £6 12s, some of them making £9 to £lO ss, store cows, empty and in milk, from £4 to £5 15s; bull. £5; aged mare, £10; foal, £4: gelding by Glenmore passed in, £23; 4-whoeied waggon, £2O; spring dray, £7 10s; spring cart, £4; disc harrows, £4 ss; mower, £4; hayrako, £4; 7coulter f.f. drill passed in, £18; one L.K.G. milking machine without engine passed in £BS. This sale was considerably marred by the owner having reserves on some of the horses and plant.
