London, July 13. The Ring has given a thousand pounds to the poor of Dublin. In a farewell message he thanked the people of Ireland for their spontaneous and hearty loyalty. The welcome they had given had made a permanent impression on himself and the Queen. ( As the boat left, great crowds on the wharf sang “Come back to Erin!” Their Majesties arrived at Holyhead in the evening. Carnarvon, was crowded. Many were unable to secure lodgings, and spent the night in the city halls singing old Welsh hymns. • INVESTITURE OF PRINCE EDWARD. (Received 14, 9.25 a.m.) London, July 13. One hundred thousand jubilant Welsh people poured into Carnarvon to witness the picturesque investiture of the Prince of Wales. Many London police and firemen assisted to line the route. The Sovereigns and Royalties were rapturously ovationed. The King was in Admiral’s uniform, and the troops and sailors numbered 16,000. The Prince of Wales was initiated as Chief of the Welsh Boy Scouts.
