ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
CURTIS—JAMES. A very pretty wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church yesterday, when Miss Gladys James, second daughter of Mr S. H. James, Avas married to Mr H. Stuart Curtis (late )f Chicago, U.S.A.), only son of Mr 0. S. Curtis. The ceremony Avas performed by the Rev. W. A. Butler, vicar of Holy Trinity, Stratford. The bride looked very pretty in a dross of white neygouia silk trimmed with tucked Brussels net, and handsome Valenciennes lace Avith the usual orthodox wreath of real orange blossoms and veil. She Avas attended by tAvo bridesmaids, Miss Nellie James (sister of the bride) and Miss Lisio Curtis (cousin of the bridegroom). They both Avore cream voile Presses Avith broAvn hats and cr.rrie.,l bouquets of autumn leaves. Mr Tom lames (brother of the bride) officiat:d as best man. As the Avedding party left the . church Miss Black ,-layed the Avedding march. After the ceremony the bride’s par- , exits entertained the bridal party and i- foAV of their relations at their residence, BroadAvay North. The happy Couple left by motor car for Ncav Plymouth, on route for Auckland. They were the recipients of a large number of beautiful presents. DAISLEY—CORBETT' A pretty Avedding Avas solemnised at the Presbyterian Church, Sratford, on July sth, by Rev. Thomson, the contracting parties being Mr R. J. Daisloy, youngest son of Mr J. Daisley, of Auckland, and Louie, youngest daughter of Mr J. H. Corbett, Stratford. The bride, aalio Avas given aAvay by her father, Avore a cream taffetta silk dress, handsomely trimmed with bilk insertion and Avore the usual veil and orange blossoms and carried a shoAver bouquet. The bridesmaids wore Miss E. Gardiner, of Eltbam, ;nd Miss May Steer, of Toko, both wearing pretty cream dresses and carrying shower bouquets. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a pearl dot pendant, and to each of the bridesmaids gold brooches sot Avith pearls. The bridegroom Avas supported by Mr L. S. Richards, of Toko, as best, man and Mr K. Corbett (brother of the bride) as groomsman, i’be guests, numbering betAveen fifty •uul sixty, Avere afterward?'. entertain'd at afternoon tea at Kerr and McJain’s tearooms. Mr and Mrs DaisIcy left for the south amid shoAvers .of lice and confetti, the latter wearing a dark green tailor-made costume n>d dove grey velvet hat. The presents, Avbich Avore numerous and costly, testified to the esteem in ..which' flic happy couple are held. ■
