POULTRY NOTES.
I have been asked to publish the following rules adopted by the Stratford Egg Circle, and which arc to be submitted for registration : 1. The name of the Circle shall bo “The Stratford Egg Circle.” 2. The Circle shall consist of an unlimited number of members, the subscription being os per year. d. The seal of the Circle shall he egg-shaped, with the above name around it, and shall remain in the custody of the secretary, to he used by him only when directed by resolution of the Board of Directors. 4. The officers of the Circle shall be as follows:—President who shall not succeed- himself in office), treasurer, secretary, and auditor. 5. The Board of Directors shall consist of the president, treasurer, ex officio, and five other members to ho oleqtod annually. 6. The annual meeting shall bo held on or about the 24th day of May in each year, seven days’ notice of which shall bo given, T'M, 7. A special meeting ishall be held by requisition of ten or more members, of which two clear days’ notice shall bo given.
8. Aiij' vacancies in the offices or membership of the Board shall he filled by resolution of the directors. 9. The directors shall meet as often as necessary, three to form a quorum. 10. Any director absenting himself from three consecutive meetings without leave, shall vacate his seat upon the Board. 11. To meet current expenses the directors shall have power to make a levy of not more than 2s 6d per share per annum. 12. The roll shall be purged by striking off’ the name of any member who is in arrears of dues for six months, hut this shall not free such discharged person from arrears due. 13. The directors shall have power to suspend any member detected in unfair practices, such as supplying produce unfit for human consumption, infringing any of the Circle’s rules. If deemed necessary, by a two-thirds majority at a general meeting the offender shall be expelled from the Circle.
14. Members supplying eggs, shall pay in advance the cost pirce of an egg-stamp, ink and pad, such remaining the absolute property of the Circle, and shall be returned upon ceasing to he a member. 15. All members shall send at least weekly ail produce for sale through the Circle. Eggs to be. stamped on the large end, and delivered in approved crates. Id. Badly-shaped, undersized, stale, or dirty eggs may be refused; a second offence will incur a fine of Gd per egg; a third, expulsion C <• the Circle.
17. Directors or their agents shall make prompt settlement with members.
IS. Any matter not provided for in these rules shall be dealt with by the directors. NEW ZEALAND UTILITY POULTRY CLUB’S EG'G LAYING COMPETITION. During the fourteenth week of the New Zealand Utility Poultry Club’s seventh egg-laying competition for fowls, 781 eggs were laid, bringing the total to date to 11,738.
