A COWARLY ASSAULT.

(Per Press Association.) Wanganui, July 13. Particulars. of a cowardly assault wore ventilated in the Supreme Court this morning, when James Kennedy and John Gunn were sentenced to two months’ imprisonment each • It appears that a man named Vincent went into a local hotel and displayed a £SO note in the presence of accused, who followed him to the back premises of another hotel, where they set upon him, knocking him down and kicking him, causing severe injuries. Ho was left senseless and subsequently picked up. He had, however, deposited the note with the hotel-keep-er before going to the back premises.
