WH ARF THEFTS.
(For Press Association.) Auckland, July 11. Startling disclosures have been made in ' connection with the wholesale thefts cf goods landed from various steamers, most of the large shipping companies and several large importing firms being affected. Cases of tooaoco, cigars, cigarettes and other goods have mysteriously disappeared, the value amounting to £SOO or £6OO. Reports are current that arrests have already been made, but they prove premature. The police are exceedingly reticent, but somewhat sensational developments are expected.
