TUTUTAWA NOTES.
(From our own Correspondent.) Since writing last, the much talkedof bachelors’ Pall lias come off, taking place on Friday last. The weather was all that could bo desired, although there were not so many preamt as was expected owing to the Hawera Show, still the attendance was remarkably good and a most enjoyable evening was spent, the bachelors saving excelled themselves. Messas 0. Buyiy and it. Hardley were M.C.’s, and saw that every one had partners. Musi .* was supplied by Air McDonald, of Stratford, and was much appreciated ; extras being played by Messrs ihvelow and Walker in' the usual good style. The most amusing event of the evening was a medley played by Ah- Brcdow, which caused much merriment Sumptuous suppers at 11.30 and 2.30 were provided, with fruit and cordials galore. Dancing was kept up till I o’clock, all having spent a jollr time. Tire following children made full attendance for the quarters ending June 30 ih :—Doris Brick-11, Geof. Bayley, Daisy Simpson, Lcn Barlyman, Cecil Savage and Eva McMillan. The following missed one day : —Gervan McAi ill an Thelma Simpson, Nora Simpsou Glen Simpson, and Tom Barleyman. Owing to the scarcity of wool Tututawa will not have a wool class this season. 1 believe Mr Stanton, our factory manager, is leaving at the end ol the month, to take up a farm near Stratford. One of our oldest settlers, Mr C. P. Barker, is also leaving, lie having bought a farm at Cardiff. Influenza is prevalent here at present, every house practically being visited by it.
