To-day the Mayor (Air J. Masters) approached Sergeant Cullen, police officer in charge of the Stratford district, with a request that the authorities hold an inquiry into the fire on Sunday morning, as he considers, on general principles, that inquiries should be made into all such matters. IF the authorities do not take action the Mayor, we understand, proposes to go further and to approach tho Justice Department direct with a request that a Coroner bo a ppoined for the district to hold inquiries regarding all fires.
