ATTEMPT TO EXPLODE THEM
London, July 10. A daring attempt has been made to explode the submarine mines defending Ti Jon. A onai termastor noticed tho door of the chamber containing the electric wres used in firing the mines open, and tried to enter, but was unable. \\ lion the door was forced, two men reshed out and overthrew’ tho quartermaster . aftci a fierce struggle. Sentries followed the men, who finally, escaped in a waiting motor-car, containing a closely-veiled woman, and vanish© i in the darkness. Die sentries will he severely punished for not using their rifles.
