SOME CAKE RECIPES. — 0 ; Rich Cheap Cake.-—Beat well the yolks of three eggs, and the whites of two, with one cup of line sugar. Beat in one half cup of condensed milk, one and two-third cups sifted Hour, two heaping teaspoonfuls baking powder, one half teaspoon lemon, one teaspoon vanilla extract. Butter generously two large cake tins. Put together with frosting made with one white of egg anil two thirds cup of sugar beaten together. Afternoon Tea Cakes.—One cup sugar, one cup of raisins, one hall enp butter, one tcaspooniul cinnamon, one half teaspoonful cloves, fcltir this altogether and put on stove and let come to the boil. Cool, then add two cups of flour with one teaspoonful of soda. Put in gem pans and cook in a quick oven. A tea that you will appreciate is the “Mikado” Blend, a tea that costs but eighteenponce a pound, and tastes like that worth 2s. It is a good strong flavoury tea with plenty of body, and extremely pleasing tc the palate. For family' use it is unequalled, for it is inexpensive and good. It is worth a trial, and the trial will cost you Is Gd, for that is the price of a pound of “Mikado” tea. Ask your grocer.*
