INDUSTRIAL PROSPERITY.
Sydney, July 5. Before tire Shortage of Labour Commission, representatives of several tailoring linns gave evidence that trade was seriously hampered owing to the scarcity of hands. Much business was refused in consequence. One witness said that in recent years there had been a large increase in general prosperity, and the people wore '.rearing more and better clothes. Silica the introduction of federation and the imposition of duties, industries had made great strides. New industi ies were rapidly springing up. Even with a largely increased labour supply there was no fear of over-production for the next ten rears.
